Caprio’s First impression:
Putting a flying bridge on an express can look like a Green Bay Packers cheesehead on a Victoria’s Secret model. Not so here. This 70 wears her superstructure like a crown.
Never in the past century have boat buyers been treated to so much variety in exterior styling, interior volume, and interesting décor, high-quality craftsmanship, and excellent performance. This new flying-bridge version of Numarine’s 70 motoryacht is among them. It promises to give shoppers a decision-making migraine.
Often, a yacht’s appeal lies beneath her glamorous surface—hidden within the laminate. Numarine builds the 70 of unidirectional and multi-axial E-glass, infused with vinylester resin and vacuum-bagged over a PVC-foam core. Gurit (better known in boating circles by its former name, SP-High Modulus) engineered the laminate. Stringers supported by transverse bulkheads stiffen the hull. A stiff hull keeps the shape its naval architects drew into it, which maintains the boat’s performance in a wide variety of conditions. Light weight enhances speed, handling, and fuel economy.
Never mind the hidden qualities, yachtsmen buy boats because they fall in love with them—the look and feel, plus, of course, their female partners’ OK. As with the trend in modern motoryacht design, the Numarine 70 FB lures buyers with her slick, sleek shapes—many of which come from automotive design—a clever arrangement plan, and 21st century décor—and the layout simply makes a person want to have parties.
