Volvo Penta’s D6-400 is Tier III compliant and packaged with a refined DPG Duoprop outdrive. The engine is based on the design of the IPS600 and includes supercharging with a tuned mechanical compressor, a new heat exchanger, and improved oil cooling. A new valve position and increased capacity injectors improve efficiency and eliminate smoke. At 2000 rpm, the supercharger helps the engine reach its maximum torque to put a cruiser on plane easily. For the drive, Volvo developed a new bearing box with an improved roller bearing, a reinforced suspension fork and redesigned gear geometry in the lower unit. The D6-400 DPH is available with joystick operation for twin installations, automatic power trim, cruise control, and other features.
