This opens to allow fuel into the cylinder and contains a spray head to finely disburse fuel for optimum combustion. One of these is at the top of each cylinder, usually with a small-diameter fuel line leading to and away from it. These items are usually connected to each other in series because only part of the fuel is used for combustion; the rest is used to cool each one.
