 A far cleaner installation—one we switched to later—uses a marine-industry-standard antenna where a coax N connector screws directly to the antenna, so only coax extends into the mount. In our situation, we switched to a BNC swivel-type connector instead of the N. This kept the coax from twisting as the antenna was tightened on the aluminum pipe.
