“While installing new primary fuel filters on the ol’ Lehman recently, I realized I spend more time doing maintenance onboard the Betty Jane than I do actually cruising. But hey, we’re talking an old boat. And a very different kettle of fish from the other boat I’ve been working on these days, albeit in the boat-test-report-writing (rather than the knuckle-busting) sense—the Salish Sea 48, a pod-propelled paragon of 21st-century marine engineering.
