Power & Motoryacht: How does your passion both for boating and business feed innovation?

Joe Galati: As a young child I would hear my grandfather and father talk about how they had salt water in their blood.  I was young enough then that I thought it was true.  When I was older I realized it was a way of saying they had a very strong passion for boating and being on the water.  What better way to live life than to combine your passion with your business?  That’s what my mom and dad did with our family’s first marina in 1970 on Anna Maria Island, Florida.  By being an avid boater I have always looked for ways to spread my love for the sea through advances that allow more people to get on the water.  Our industry has been very blessed with many new innovations in recent years such as the simplicity in navigation electronics and the joystick offered by several manufacturers, making docking a boat much easier. This has allowed many new boaters into our hobby.  Being a part of several manufactures and industry dealer councils I feel that I have been able to bring a unique perspective to new developments by asking the questions boaters ask me, “How can we improve?”

When you love something you always want to find ways not to only improve it but to provide everyone with the absolute best experience!

Power & Motoryacht: What lesson from your past has helped move your business forward?

Joe Galati: Being second generation in a business puts me in a very unique position to bring lessons from my past into the present. My brothers, sister and I grew up with many lessons taught from my parents. “Always make your decision based on doing what is right” is one of the most valuable lessons I have learned. I am looking forward to sharing those memories and new pieces of advice with the third generation that is now entering our family business. 

This is a small industry and always doing the right thing will be remembered.

We know, exceeding our customer’s expectations is your best way to conduct everyday business activities. It’s important to keep your customers boating and happy on the water while providing them the support they need when there are issues is critical.  Free time is so valuable that everything possible must be done to make boating FUN!

We love boating together with our clients in rendezvous, fishing tournament, and events.  We strive to teach new boaters important vessel knowledge and to provide them with everything they need to have a great experience on the water.

Power & Motoryacht: How will your products change to meet the needs of the evolving marketplace?

Joe Galati: For decades we have been dealers for many leading manufactures in the marketplace and we stay on the cutting edge in training our team.  We are on the frontline with the boat owners and their needs must be cared for after the sale.  

The Internet has become a very valuable tool for our industry and we work diligently to find ways to make information available instantly for navigation, trouble shooting, and more.  Whether it is a blog, social-media post or a listing on our Web site we keep all information helpful and informative to our viewers. Sharing ideas and information within the boating community whenever possible only strengthens our hobby of boating!  It is our mission to make sure that boaters, who have salt water in their blood, have the opportunity to create many great memories on the water!

Everyone deserves a hobby and a place to get away, and I believe there is nothing better than the love for boating!
