The latest model from the Italian builder uses massive windows to welcome the outside into the interior.

Have you ever booked a room in an oceanfront hotel and ended up with a balcony that faces the parking lot? If so, you know how frustrating it is to be that close to the ocean yet not be able to see it. The designers at Absolute understand how important it is to enjoy an open, unobstructed horizon. Boating is a visceral experience, and Absolute embraces that with the 56 Fly, which is set to debut this fall at the Cannes boat show.

The design incorporates massive windows in the hull to bring the outside environment in. The builder offers similar features in the 60 Fly but dialed it up a bit more in the 56 by placing large windows in the full-beam master in the bow so you can go to bed admiring twinkling stars and wake up to the pinkish hues of the sunrise. The VIP stateroom is also full-beam while a third cabin with twin berths and a double crew cabin round out the sleeping spaces. And you can enjoy quiet sleep without the genset running because this boat is outfitted with solar panels on the hardtop that can silently run many of the systems when anchored out.

While the salon windows brighten the space, they also slide open electrically to let the sea air waft through. Absolute even used transparent panels in the cockpit and an open railing to make sure the views remain as open as possible. The cockpit area can be outfitted to the owner’s liking with modular furniture that’s easy to manipulate.

While the salon is both comfortable and open, the flybridge and bow space is where most of the entertaining will happen. The flybridge offers a comfortable helm to port, a dinette and a rear area that can be used for more entertaining. The foredeck has a large sunpad and bench seating.

No one likes to be tucked away in a dark space in the hold of a ship. Absolute gets that, and they’ve made sure it will never happen on the 56 Fly—well, except for engine room checks. But even that’s a well-lit space.
