Koenig’s First Take:
Just imagine how much fun this boat would be to whip over to Bimini or up to Roche Harbor for the weekend. Enough onboard space to keep you as posh as you could want, and sporty performance to get you to the islands in style. Easy on the eyes too.
You’d think the Sunseeker Predator 57’s sleek, flowing lines and top speeds that crest the 30-knot mark would be her two most attractive qualities. But that doesn’t appear to be the case so far. Instead, it’s been the boat’s highly functional layout that has made her one of the company’s most popular builds as of late. Nick Bischoff, vice president of sales and marketing for Sunseeker in the U.S., agrees. “It’s the hottest boat we have,” he says. “We sold four at the [Miami] show. What people seem to like about it is the layout. It’s really perfect for entertaining and socializing. The aft deck is so well integrated with the saloon, and people like the drop-down window and sliding door,” he says.
That big door and window means you can open the boat up, or keep her interior nice and cozy, depending on where and when you’re cruising—a nice option. As are the mullion-free hullside windows that make the three staterooms feel light, airy, and a bit larger than they actually are.
Those windows of course help the 57 cut a striking figure out on the water, one of the Predator line’s unmistakable hallmarks. And that’s not a fact that’s lost on Bischoff either. He concluded his conversation with me about the boat’s layout with a wink and a smile. “Plus, just look at her,” he said. “She’s just plain sexy.”
