Regulator 41

Koenig’s First Take:
It’s easy to go nuts and overpower an outboard boat these days, but something tells me those quadruple 350s hanging off the stern of the Regulator 41 will be just about right for this beast.

Well, if you remain unconvinced that the age of the giant center console is upon us, this boat just may be the one to turn the leaf for you. Regulator’s largest project to date, the 41, features sturdy construction, smart design, and an absolutely bombastic Yamaha propulsion package that should make her a hit both on the tournament scene, and with thrill-seeking boaters who love to go fast.

Including her Armstrong bracket, the 41 will actually measure 47 feet 3 inches. To propel all that boat, Regulator will offer two different power packages, in the form of triple and quadruple Yamaha 350s. As of presstime Regulator has not yet released speed projections for this boat. With the latter package, it wouldn’t be a stretch to guess that she could crack that vaunted 60-knot mark, meaning she will be a true-blue speed demon.

But the 41’s not just going to simply be a go-fast boat. Naval architect Lou Codega has his work cut out for him, since Regulator wants the 41 to be a serious sportfishing boat, as well as a highly capable and luxurious cruiser. To that effect, the boat has lots of amenities, both fishing and otherwise. On the piscatorial side, the 41 will feature a 240-gallon insulated fishbox, an 80-gallon livewell, and enough surplus stowage for all your rods, line, lures, and everything else. On the cruising side, passengers will no doubt enjoy the integrated starboard-side dive door, as well as a very cool convertible sunpad/table that electrically recesses into the boat’s sole to make for more deck space when fishing, or just when the party really gets going.

However you plan on using the Regulator 41, one thing’s for sure, there’s no denying that when this fast, sturdy build splashes, she’ll be more than ready to go out and tangle with the big boys.
