There are hotels on the water and then there are hotels on the water. The Iris series of yacht islands from Eramotive falls into the latter category. Available in LOAs of 148, 246, and 410 feet, each features an oblong superstructure with rounded sides.
Available interior layouts include: a floating convention center, entertainment venue, or a hotel.
The structure is intended for extended living at sea, so its design team wrapped much of its exterior with photovoltaic (solar) panels to provide green energy. If desired, a hydroponic garden can be added to the vessel to further enhance the ability to remain self-sufficient at sea. Perhaps the most futuristic feature of this series will be the massive glass walls on the main deck that retract—like a glass door at the push of a button providing infinite views of your surroundings. Pressing a second button summons 3-foot extended decks that are suspended over the water.
