The new Maritimo M58 speaks Australian, to borrow a phrase. But American boaters will lose nothing in translation. From the cockpit barbecue to the enclosed flying bridge, the M58 is a floating argument in favor of the way they boat down under. Have a sneak peek at the Maritimo M58 here.

Protector Targa 30

By Kevin Koenig | Posted August 2012 | Add a Comment

Power & Motoryacht's first impression of the Protector Targa 30. The Protector Targa 30 is one heck of a boat. I can say that because as I write this, my hair is still wild from a ride I took aboard her this morning. Protector sales rep Andrew Carleton and I spun her around Manhattan, from the 79th Street Boat Basin on the Upper West Side all the way to the Brooklyn Bridge. We sat in comfort in her optional Stidd helm seats and enjoyed the extra foot of LOA she has over her predecessor, the Targa 28...

Hunt 44 Express Cruiser

By Kevin Koenig | Posted July 2012 | Add a Comment

Power & Motoryacht's first look at the Hunt 44 Express Cruiser. The 44 is no doubt a handsome vessel, with salty lines and plenty of brightwork, but she’s not just some show pony. She’s available with an array of sturdy diesel powerplants, including a set of Cummins QSC 8.3-600s that can get her up to 30 knots at WOT with a cruise around 26. Bow and stern thrusters or an optional IPS joystick matched to pods make her a breeze to handle at slower speeds, while an aft garage can hold a tender for making trips to port.

Horizon CC105 Explorer

By Kevin Koenig | Posted July 2012 | Add a Comment

Power & Motoryacht's first impression of the Horizon CC105 Explorer. With an LOA of just over 105 feet, the boat feels closer to a 140-footer. Her interior spaces are incredibly wide open, and her decks are downright vast for a boat this size. A full-beam master cabin is a strong point indoors, notable for its large portholes as well as private access to a massive foredeck lounge area.

Cranchi M40 Soft Top

By Kevin Koenig | Posted July 2012 | Add a Comment

Cranchi seems to have a knack for producing midrange express cruisers that keep their customers happy with a pleasant mix of onboard accommodations and on-the-water performance. They have seen much success with their Endurance 41, and now look forward to continued adulation with the M40, a boat that debuted at the 2012 Miami International Boat Show. That continuation of praise wouldn’t be all that surprising, since she is at once both sleek and functional, built for play, but also amenable to life onboard.
