Some yachts on this list tote unusual toys, like landing crafts custom-built to transport Jeeps and the like to land, but nothing could top the vehicle showcased aboard Utopia last September in Monaco: a Rolls-Royce Centenary Phantom, of which only 35 have been built. It was part of a promotional campaign for both Feadship and Rolls-Royce. Don’t worry if you missed it; you can still own both for E75 million (about $97 million at presstime). Earlier this year the yacht entertained a handful of charters in the Caribbean, before setting off across the Atlantic for the Monaco Grand Prix.

How cool is this? Skat has a custom-designed motorcycle lift, which takes the bike up from a lower deck to the main deck. The yacht is a true home (and office) six months of the year for Charles Simonyi, chief software architect at Microsoft. “I tried Montreal, I tried Monte Carlo, I tried Copenhagen,” he told Vanity Fair by way of explaining why building the yacht was more satisfying than anything he found on land. Skat is a true expression of custom construction, given her grey exterior paint and multiple angular surfaces.

If you like to cruise with Man’s Best Friend, then you’ve probably run into the problem of what to do when your precious pup needs to, well, go. Boadicea was originally built with a grassy patch on her second deck for that very reason. We say “originally” because unfortunately the family pets (reportedly there were two of them) died. The area has since been converted into relaxation space.

The refit of the ex-Claire T that was expected to be finished last fall took several months longer. But the public relations representatives for the Canadian owner, who also owns Sea to Sky Helisports & Megayacht Adventures, assures us Absinthe will be taking charters as you read this. They’ll be unusual charters for sure, as the yacht’s helicopter will take guests into the mountains of British Columbia for skiing trips other mere mortals can’t experience. Winter months will see charters in Costa Rica, with rainforest tours via helicopter.

This yacht was seen in Genoa, Italy, late last year and underwent a major refit at Global Ship Systems in Savannah during the winter. Presently owned by an American, Reverie should be chartering in the Med as you read this. Interested parties with small children may be interested in learning that the master suite, which is on its own deck separate from guest staterooms, adjoins two staterooms specifically for the owners’ kids as well as a lounge with a games area.

While seated at the dining table, guests aboard this charter yacht can see straight up through an atrium (on the owner’s deck) to the opaque glass-bottom Jacuzzi on the top deck. There’s no need for any of them to rush through their dinner to be the first to take a dip: The Jacuzzi can hold 18 people. For active pursuits, there’s a piano bar with a dance floor.

H. Wayne Huizinga, the owner of the Miami Dolphins football team and the Florida Panthers hockey team, purchased Greg Norman’s former yacht (then-named Aussie Rules) last year and shortly thereafter had a refit done. Work focused on adding a helipad and extra guest accommodations. Untouched was the great swim-up bar on the sundeck.

This former deep-sea research vessel, which retains much of her original character, was seen in Montreal, Canada, in May. Her owner, Italy native Johnny Pigozzi, was nicknamed “the playboy paparazzo” by W magazine due to his reputation as a ladies’ man and his career as a photographer.
