Elanymor 193'7" · 1974/1999
Yet another former commercial vessel that was converted to a yacht. About
the only changes to her exterior were the additions of a hangar to stow
the helicopter and, of course, a landing area for it.

on this side of the pond, cruised as far north as Newfoundland and as
far south as Mexico.

Eighteen guests can enjoy the expansive interior and exterior spaces aboard
this yacht, which was originally built to NATO standards for the Dutch
navy. When they’re in the mood for active pursuits, guests can try
their hand at the three PWCs, four kayaks, kneeboard, wakeboard, or even
the banana boat kept aboard.

Capella C 193'6" · 1968/1985
The New Zealand Herald proudly listed this yacht as one of the many which
spent time in Auckland for the last America’s Cup race. In fact,
the Auckland Harbour Board’s records indicate that the yacht visited
the city about five times between October 2001 and April 2002.

Senses 193'6" · 1999
Given her nickname “the Hummer of the seas,” thanks to the designers
at Francis & Francis, it’s too bad Senses wasn’t
chosen for the Hummer commercial filmed aboard another yacht on our list
(see no. 67). Oh well, she can’t have everything, although TheStyleGroup.com,
a luxury Web portal, did name her to its “Top 10 Yachts” list
in 2003.

Capri 192'0" · 2003
An American couple named their yacht after the famous Italian isle, since
that’s where they signed the contract to have Lürssen build
her. Lest anyone who visits the yacht momentarily forget this fact, the
lavishly appointed master bath will immediately remind them. A backlit
glass etching depicts one of the island’s ports, and the huge panel
curves between two lacquered teak columns as well as the huge onyx tub.

Ronin 191'9" · 1993
Since he’s parted with Katana (see Enigma, no 30), Larry Ellison
has only one yacht on our list, Ronin. She’s often seen in
and around Sausalito, California. While Ellison has been known to take
the helm of his maxi-yacht, Sayonara, we’ve yet to hear he’s
been behind the wheel of this lady, the only yacht ever designed by Sir
Norman Foster. Ronin reportedly can cruise at a remarkable 30 knots and
hit 34 knots during sea trials.
