Reportedly, some 69 boats were lost when Hurricane Frances hit Florida’s Fort Pierce City Marina (above). At presstime, a sonar-equipped vessel was still attempting to locate some eight vessels that were still missing and had presumably sunk. “It was the surge associated with the back side of the storm that got us,” said marina manager Dean Kubitschek. “But we’ll be back…it’s just a matter of time and money.”
