On Sunday, July 12, let’s all plan to go boating.

Halfway to Shelter Island

This is me and my buddy Chuck last weekend on the ferry that goes from Greenport, Long Island, to Shelter Island. I know March isn't exactly prime Long Island boating season, but when it warms up, I suggest you take a cruise to Greenport, Shelter Island, or both. There's great sights to be seen and plenty of waterfront dining, shopping, and nightlife in the area. It's really just a great place to kill a weekend. Plus, there's plenty of worthwhile vineyards just a stone's throw from the docks. Vineyard hopping is good times (and it's directly correlated to why I look so "tired" in this picture). Anyhoo, the North Fork of Long Island—check it out.
