Helly Hansen Crew Midlayer Jacket
The Crew Midlayer Jacket is a three-season cruising jacket for those who find themselves out in the open a bit. A late September cruise from Newport to Block Island for some fishing? Throw this bad boy on and you’re all set (just, try to keep the blood off it). The Crew Midlayer will hold up nicely against spray and rain—the water beads off the jacket’s HellyTech outer coating like Teflon and dries right quick—but it lacks a hood, so when it’s really coming down you’ll want a hat. The jacket has a Polartec fleece liner that adds warmth, but it extends all the way down inside the sleeves and that makes it a little more difficult to pull the coat on when your hands are wet, but how often does that happen on a boat?
