Better Boat: Going Green

This builder of oceangoing sailboats offers a package designed to allow more time on the hook with less time running the generator. For an additional $9,204, you get Back Contact solar panels located on top of the 47’s bimini, and additional AGM batteries. The system is designed to supply power to the vessel’s low-consumption LED lighting and the batteries serving the well-insulated refrigerator boxes.
