The customer is always right. Sometimes it seems like nobody understands that mantra better than the fully custom, Largo, Florida-based builder Intrepid. A good case in point is its all-new 375 Walk Around, a boat that is the direct result of customer feedback. Intrepid was hearing from its clients that they wanted the enhanced deck space of a center console, but liked the lines and interior space of a cuddy cabin. Intrepid’s president Ken Clinton explains, “Customers love the accessibility of a walkaround but they do not like the conventional look. That usually is what causes some people to buy a cuddy instead. Because it is ‘sexier.’ It’s got a low profile and they are willing to sacrifice the easier accessibility for the look, and that is where the new 375 Walk Around comes in. We were hearing some of our customers saying that they had to have the 350 Walk Around because of the easy bow accessibility or saying that they had to have the 370 Cuddy because of the sexier profile. So we decided to morph the concepts. The 375 Walk Around has the sexy lines of the Cuddy but also has the Walk Around accessibility.”
What’s more, the 375 Walk Around has an exceptionally large head for a boat this size. It’s inside the console, fully stand-up, and has a separate shower. Even better, the MSD stows at the push of a button to make more room in the shower. Not bad for a 37-foot open boat. It sounds to me like Intrepid really did get some good advice after all.
