Installing a Cellular Booster

Install a cellular booster to use your smartphone offshore.

Boating gets us away from it all. But often the only way to get away at all is to maintain communication with the office. A cellular repeater, often called a cellular booster, uses a large antenna and amplifier to boost voice and data transmissions between your boat and shoreside cellular towers. It also has another antenna inside the boat to rebroadcast that signal to phones, tablets, or computer data cards. Installing the Wilson repeater we chose to use for this install story was simple, but antenna placement was key.
