Claire
180'5"
· 1996 Rumors persisted two years ago that the controversial
Prince Jefri of Brunei (the brother of the sultan) sold his Feadship to
a European owner, but our reliable sources insisted the yacht hadn't
changed hands. This time, however, it seems a transfer of ownership has
happened--and quietly, at that. Not that we're surprised--after
all, if we'd purchased a huge yacht named for a part of the female
body (hint: rhymes with "ritz") and that had a nameboard with
a matching anatomically correct logo, we'd keep it and the name
change quiet, too. But therein lies the problem: None of our sources could
tell us the new name, so we're opting for the name that Feadship
used when the prince owned her. B: Feadship/C.

was known as Defiance and measured
155 feet LOA, purposely to extend her to her current length. The work

Azimut/Benetti). Tacanuya cruises the Med. B:

Ambrosia
177'2"
· 1998 Do you like music? An investor from Hong Kong apparently
does, too, since he had Ambrosia outfitted
with an electric piano and karaoke machine. Let's just hope that
amateur singers among the guests don't send the rest of the invited
party-goers fleeing for the outdoor deck areas--although that wouldn't
be such a bad idea, since there's a terrific observation area in
front of the pilothouse. B: Benetti, Italy; N:

Sarafsa
177'2"
· 1998 Sarafsa has an unusual
yet striking color for a hull: maroon. The king of Jordan and his family
cruised aboard her in the Greek islands last summer. While there are no
details on what her interior looks like, we do know that it was designed
by Andrew Winch. B: Amels, Holland; N: Builder;
