Olympia
L: 187'0" Y: 2002
Scheduled for delivery around the time went to press, Olympia is
still very much under wraps from a publicity standpoint. But we hear that
the yacht has a light ash interior, courtesy of interior designer John
Gallagher. B: Feadship/De Vries Scheepsbouw, Holland; N: De Voogt Naval
Architects; H: Steel; E: 2/1,500-hp Caterpillars

Sagitta
L: 187'0" Y: 2001
This yacht holds the distinction of being the largest project Oceanfast
has thus far delivered (although larger ones are under construction).
Sagitta is capable of maintaining a 22-knot cruising speed, is
equipped with carbon-fiber props, and has a computer-controlled stabilization
system that encompasses a forward hydroplane as well as an innovative
arrangement of stabilizing fins. In addition, floor-to-ceiling windows
in the saloon ensure plenty of natural light and terrific views. In addition,
skylights are a prominent design feature in the saloons, permitting sunlight
to filter down the main staircase to the lower deck. B: Oceanfast,
Australia; N: Jon Bannenberg; H: Aluminum; E: 2/3,650-hp MTU-DDCs

Chamar
L: 186'0" Y: 1992
Rumors flew four
years ago that rock star Paul McCartney was staying aboard this yacht,
since he was seen in the vicinity when Chamar was at the Southport
Yacht Club in Australia's Gold Coast. Regardless, two brothers from
London certainly enjoy their time aboard Chamar, the largest yacht built
by the now-defunct Brooke Yachts. B: Brooke Yachts, England; N: Luigi

Barbara Jean
L: 185'3" Y: 2001
The gentleman
who purchased the 162-foot Feadship White Rabbit and renamed her
Lady Columbo after a refit took delivery of this yacht late last
year. Her interior embraces design elements of other Feadships, notably
Rasselas, featuring an abundance of Honduras mahogany throughout
the various rooms, exquisite marble, and a compass rose motif in the carpet
in the main entry. Perhaps that's because the interiors of Rasselas
and Barbara Jean were both designed by John Munford. (For more
details, see "One Step Beyond," this issue.) B: Feadship/De
Vries Scheepsbouw, Holland; N: De Voogt Naval Architects; H: Steel; E:

Lady J
L: 185'0" Y: 1976/1989
Known for the past few years as Quest, this rugged craft was constructed
as an offshore oil field supply vessel. She was purchased in 1989 by a
private individual for reconfiguration as a charter yacht. That same owner
reportedly loaned the vessel to the Discovery Channel to use for programs
about the ocean. Lady J is for sale for $3.9 million. B: Quality Shipyard,

Pangaea
L: 184'0" Y: 1999
The American who recently took delivery of Big Roi (see no. 51)
previously owned this yacht, then named Dream, but sold her in
anticipation of the launch of his larger vessel. This lady, launched as
Samantha Lin, was one of the first yachts to be built from the
keel up to resemble a commercial vessel. Her current owner took her to
Fort Lauderdale in the spring for a refit. B: Halter Marine, USA; N:
Builder; H: Steel; E: 2/1,000-hp Caterpillars

Paris
L: 184'4" Y: 1991
A half deck level
separates Paris' forward and aft sections, creating four levels
forward. Among the areas taking advantage: two saloons on the main deck,
one located aft and one located forward (naturally). B: Amels, Holland;
N: Jack Hargrave; H: Steel; E: 2/1,500-hp Caterpillars

Lady Christine
L: 182'6" Y: 2001
The owners of
Lady Christine wasted no time in showing off their new yacht after
taking delivery late last summer. They spent three weeks on the southern
coast of England observing yacht races, including Cowes Week, then cruised
over to Scotland. No doubt they found the time to enjoy the Caribbean--as
in the "Caribbean" lounge on her top deck, which is circular
in design and provides great views of the outdoors. It also yields access
to the helicopter pad. B: Oceanco, South Africa/Holland; N: The "A"
Group--Monte Carlo SAM; H: Steel; E: 2/2,200-hp Caterpillars

Varmar VE
L: 182'0" Y: 1986
A Greek shipping
executive with long ties to the Kennedy family owns Varmar VE.
Rory Kennedy was rumored to have honeymooned aboard three years ago, and
as you'd expect of anything relating to the Kennedys, the news sent
the papparazzi into a frenzy, trying their best to snap photos of the
newlyweds. B: Feadship/Royal Van Lent Shipyard, Holland; N: De Voogt
Naval Architects; H: Steel; E: 2/1,500-hp Caterpillars

Princess Lauren
L: 181'4"
Y: 1984
The most talked-about
feature of this charter yacht is her dining room, since it's on
the upper deck. It in turn opens onto a large deck area that can handily
accommodate large gatherings. B: CRN, Italy; N: Builder; H: Steel;
E: 2/2,450-hp Deutz-MWMs

Southern Cross III
L: 181'0"
Y: 1986
Once owned by
Australian tycoon Alan Bond, this charter yacht emphasizes fun. Guests
can gather at the bar and around the piano on the "Verandah Deck"
or hit the water in the kayaks, windsurfers, a banana boat, and PWC. B:
Nishii, Japan; N: Jon Bannenberg/builder; H: Fiberglass; E: 2/4,588-hp
