The 285-hp KAMD300 inboard (also offered as the KAD300 with stern drive) is a more powerful version of last year’s 250-hp KAMD 44P EDC. Displacement of the in-line six (3.6 liters) is unchanged, as are weight (1,118 pounds) and rated speed (3800 rpm), so the only thing that has really changed is the name and the power density, which improves to 4.17 lbs/hp. Like its predecessor, the KAMD300 is an all-electronic engine and employs a combination of a supercharger and turbocharger to flatten the torque curve and improve low-end response. (757) 436-2800.
