When it comes to outfitting my onboard toolbox, one key tool is a tube or can of Star brite’s Liquid Electrical Tape. When used properly, this product offers the best way to ensure solid, durable electrical connections. It forms a protective dielectric coating that seals out moisture, preventing corrosion.

First remove any corrosion, and strip back the insulation to clean and bright wire before ap­plying it. If you are using the brush-on version, apply enough Liquid Electrical Tape to cover the connection, and let the product dry for about five minutes. If you want a thicker seal, you can apply a second coat. If you’re using the tube, merely squeeze it on to the desired thickness and allow it to dry.
