CRM has just released a line of V and W 12- and 18-cylinder engines and continues to offer the only diesels in the 1,200- to 1,350-hp range with a pre-combustion chamber. This indirect injection system (IDI) reportedly makes for a "soft" combustion process, reducing wear, noise, and vibration, and is enhanced by the use of an automatic timing-adjustment system (ATAS) that reduces peak combustion pressure and mechanical stress. Unlike others engines, CRMs do not have a flywheel, which the company says minimizes vibration and torque variation. Like most other manufacturers, CRM is working toward reducing emissions; its current engines produce 30 percent fewer emissions than IMO limitations. Phone: (39) 0331 572600. www.crm-spa.it.
