Pulled the Plug?
No good deed
goes unpunished. Destined to go down in the history books as the largest
artificial reef, the 510-foot Spiegel Grove decided to sink
a bit early. The ship turned turtle (see sequence below) before she
could be set in place, resulting in quite the quagmire. We’re
happy to report the conservation-minded volunteers eventually corrected
the ship’s position.
This Memorial Day, remember those who were lost serving our country on the high seas in the U.S. Navy aboard PT Boats. Recently we were invited out for a ride on the only operational combat-veteran PT Boat, PT 305 in New Orleans.
