Explorer 78 — By Capt. Bill Pike —
This is a yachtsman’s yacht for many reasons,
one being the comparatively simple upper helm (next image) and another
being the lofty hardtop, which puts the radar scanner well above
the helmsman’s head for safety’s sake. The 15-foot, hard-shell
dinghy on the boat deck (above) is custom-built by Marlow.
When you’re a boat designer, you deal with all kinds of people, from hard-charging CEOs to dreamers. But they all must follow the laws of physics. Our Sightlines columnist Michael Peters lays down the law.
