Latest & Not-so-Greatest
Fashionable and Not-So-Functional
By Elizabeth A. Ginns
I’m 5'1 1/2" tall, so it’s not surprising that I often like to wear heels. But as all of us women (and perhaps a few cutting-edge men) know, there aren’t many stylish boat shoes on the market, and fewer still with high heels. Until now.
The Laced Vachetta Pumps, brought to us by fashion mogul Michael Kors, are stylish, height-enhancing, and feature a white, rubber sole that will grip docks and decks but won’t leave unsightly skid marks.
Wearing heels on the water may sound a little scary at first. You’re thinking it might be hard to maneuver in them, or perhaps envision yourself tripping and falling into the ocean and being left to the sharks? Can’t say I blame you, but for the sake of fashion, a watery death is a small price to pay.
And speaking of price, at $210, Laced Vachettas are a bargain. They’re sold at high-end department stores and through the company. If you like walking on the wild side, I say go for it!
