The saltwater environment and all things electric are just not a good mix. It's usually just a matter of time before water has its way with wires, panels, and the like. That is, until now.

Blue Sea Systems, which provides electrical systems and the accompanying accessories, has developed a D.C. circuit-breaker-panel series that is said to be impervious to the saltwater environment. A bold claim for sure, but Blue Sea seems quite confident in its product.

The series, called the Arctic White D.C. Waterproof Circuit Breaker Panels, sports an aluminum housing with waterproof mounting gasket and countersunk holes for fixing the panels either vertically or horizontally. There are four panels in the series, and all are rated at 45 amperes for 12- or 24-volt circuits. They’re available with three, four, six, or eight switches that have easily viewable LEDs to let you know know what systems are on.

The Arctic White D.C. Waterproof Circuit Breaker Panels are available through Blue Sea dealers and have a suggested retail price range from $87.65 to $180.78.
