Heesen launches a 47-meter
Catch Some Air
The Netherlands-based Heesen Yachts has delivered the 47-meter (154-foot) Air (above), the sixth 47-meter in the series (the sistership to 2009’s Blind Date, 2008’s Elandess), and has three more currently under construction.
She has many classic megayacht features including a forward owner’s cabin, four guest cabins on the lower deck, and Heesen’s recognizable “pelican-beak bow.” Interior wood accents are done in a Japanese elm with a high-gloss finish.
A less traditional feature, however, is where a skylounge would be located. Instead, there is a large theater room dominated by a 103-inch plasma TV. Two seven-foot speakers painted in high-gloss Steinway & Sons piano black with 24K gold accents flank the screen (which will most likely surpass any theater experience). The entertainment system is controlled via a custom iPad control as no normal remote would do.
