Tenders for Yachts and Megayachts Page 5
Inspired by recollections of a childhood spent sailing dinghies during a weekend anchorage in Nantucket, the yacht builder David Marlow decided to create a tender that works equally well under both sail and power. His Marlow Gypsy has the looks to etch new memories, with her teak-adorned transom and gunwales and deep blue hull painted with Awlgrip. The hull is built just like Marlow’s larger yachts, which are honeycomb-cored and injected with closed-cell foam, with an epoxy skin coat.
What makes the Gypsy a dream tender is her versatility. Put a 20-hp four-stroke outboard on the transom, and she does 25 mph. Rig the mast and sails and she tacks through about 105 degrees. For now, Gypsies are available as tenders only on Marlow yachts, such as the 78E and 76E.Marlow Explorer
