Interphase SE-200B

Interphase's SE-200B forward-looking sonar (FLS) can be neatly integrated into most any helm. Its video output can go to one or more of the many multifunction displays that now support video, and/or its VGA output can go to one or more monitors with this PC-type input, while one or more compact keyboards can be positioned where they're handy and the sonar "engine" itself is tucked into a cabinet. Install the phased-array transducer, not shown but included in the $2,599 system, and you'll be able to monitor either a 90-degree horizontal swath angled ahead of your yacht, as shown, or a surface-to-bottom vertical scan. The SE-200B can also provide a traditional fishfinder-style down-looking view, which has a maximum depth range of 600 feet and can be used split screen with either of the FLS modes. Plus NMEA 0183 inputs let it display GPS and water-temperature info. Note that Electra's somewhat contrarian owner (see "E.E. Owner") favors the similar FLS capabilities of a dedicated Interphase Twinscope unit, even though it has much less display flexibility. Different (key) strokes for different folks!
