World's 100 Largest Yachts 2006 #22: Kingdom 5KR
#22: KINGDOM 5KR—281’9”
First it was the world’s richest people, then it was the world’s most expensive yachts, and now it’s the world’s most eligible billionaires; Prince Alwaleed of Saudi Arabia is on all of these Forbes’ lists. (What will they think of next, the world’s richest eligible bachelors who own the world’s most expensive yachts?) In the DVD accompanying his authorized biography (Alwaleed: Businessman, Billionaire, Prince), the investment king reveals that he’s building an even larger replacement yacht for Kingdom 5KR, which contains a shower “room” (far too spacious and luxurious to be considered a stall) carved from a solid block of onyx. While in the interview he says the yacht will be 155 to 160 meters long—about 509 to 525 feet LOA—drawings we’ve seen that bear the distinctive Kingdom logo are for a 163-meter yacht, or about 535 feet LOA. They’re from the drawing boards of Lindsey Design in Texas.
