its October 3 front page, Washington State University's student
newspaper reported how the first Filipinos landed in California in
a Spanish galleon whose name "loosely translates to `The
Big Ass Spanish Boat.'" The next day the paper published
an apology and retraction, as the Nuestra Señora de Buena
Esperanza actually translates to "Our Lady of Good Hope."
