There’s nowhere like South Florida to get a feel for an open boat. The cooling breezes and blue water await every boater, whether you’re looking to fish, pursue adrenaline-charged watersports, or raft up and swim with friends and family.

Regulator 34The Sessa Key Largo 34 brings plenty of excitement to the table, with a European sensibility and accommodations for four, and both inboard and outboard power. The triple-outboard 36 will also be on view.

For modern design, look for the Fjord Open 42, a showpiece of form following function with a strikingly wide stance and a beam of more than 13 feet.

Cruise by the convention center to get a look at the latest Regulator, the 34 Center Console. The 34 Ss and 28 will also be on hand.

Contender’s 25-foot Bay Boat may be the tender of choice for anglers. Of the Contender 35 LS, Senior Editor Kevin Koenig wrote: “A large part of this exceptional performance is no doubt because of the 35 LS’s burly, triple 300-horsepower Yamahas, but really I suspect the main culprit is that hull, which is really kind of a hybrid step.” (“Contender for the Crown” appeared in the New Boat Buyer’s Guide 2013 published by the AIM Marine Group).

The Belzona 325 offers a new way of thinking about the cockpit area. Check out the Deep Impact 399 cabin. The Atlantis verve outboard puts together Italian sensibility and American power with triple 300-horsepower Mercury Verados. And the striking Barracuda 9 from Beneteau brings big-boat features in a small package.
