World’s 100 Largest Yachts 2006 #56: Attessa

#56: ATTESSA—225'0"

We deserve 30 lashes with a wet chamois for having Attessa’s LOA wrong in last year’s edition. While she was originally launched (for a European, under the name Aviva) at 205 feet, her present owner, American industrialist Dennis Washington, had her extended—and extensively rebuilt, as a fire shortly after her initial launch nearly destroyed her. Sorry about the error, Mr. Washington. Hope you’re having fun; judging by all the reports we’ve received on where you and/or the yacht have been over the past several months, it sounds like you are. First it was Cabo San Lucas and Acapulco in Mexico in January, then it was Panama and the British Virgin Islands in March and April, followed by St. Maarten in May.
