Charter guests aboard Leander are treated to a royal welcome, but a real royal welcome occurred earlier this year when England's Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles stayed aboard for several days during an official tour of Jamaica, Trinidad, Tobago, St. Lucia, and Montserrat. The yacht was selected, according to the prince's press office, because she posed a more environmentally friendly option than flying from island to island.

Leander's displacement is approximately 2,000 tons, which is roughly the equivalent of the following items:

—the British Navy's "second rate" sailing ships, which were three-deckers that fought in the center of the line of battle, mounted 90 to 98 guns, and carried a crew of about 750

—the Ocean Express, a clipper ship launched in 1954, which at 215'2" was the largest sailing ship ever constructed in Medford, Massachusetts
