#15: INDIAN EMPRESS—311'7"

Last September the royal Saudi yacht known as Al Mirqab was acquired by Vijay Mallya, a 51-year-old Indian billionaire who’s best known for helming a liquor empire, being a member of parliament, and last but not least, having a flamboyant personality. When he gave the Economic Times of India a tour of the yacht last November, the reporter recognized a handful of original paintings from masters such as Renoir and Chagall and took note of "the VJM touch all over" the massive rooms, ranging from monogrammed sheets to bottles of Kingfisher liquor. The yacht also boasts a toy garage—but to hold two Mercedes cars, not the run-of-the-mill watertoys.
