The only ice that this former icebreaker, now a pirate-themed expedition yacht, finds in her travels are the cubes floating in guests' drinks. A Saudi purchased the former charter yacht last year and keeps her and her assortment of toys strictly for private use in Dubai and other places.

A 265-foot yacht doesn’t go anywhere real fast, which is perhaps the reason for at least one of the tenders on Bart Roberts. Adrenaline-junky guests get their exhilaration fix from a 50-foot, 25-passenger Thriller Cat capable of 70 mph. Those who prefer a slightly slower pace are delivered ashore on a 38-foot aluminum landing craft along with gear and a car or SUV. The landing craft even has a bath and shower for quick pick-me-ups. Even more impressive, with its twin 350-hp diesels (and plenty of fenders), the boat is capable of helping Bart Roberts maneuver in sticky docking situations.—Liz Pasch
