America’s 100 Largest Yachts 2006 #4: Tatoosh
Tatoosh may get less attention from yacht spotters because she’s sometimes referred to as Paul Allen’s “other yacht” (see Octopus, no. 2), but she’s no less fascinating. She’s readily recognizable due to the sailing yacht and the custom Hinckley she keeps as tenders, each mounted on opposite sides of her superstructure. Other notable features include a swimming pool on her main deck and a lounge on her third deck dedicated to guests arriving and departing by her helicopter. (Hey, that six-minute ride from the Nice airport in France to the yacht’s anchorage in Monaco can make a person thirsty.) Her unusual name is the same as that of an island in the Pacific Northwest, in the Straits of San Juan.
