Madonna.
Clint. Tom. Nicole. Arnold (or should we say Ah-nuld?). Recognize these
names? Of course you do. They’re the celebrities who are so famous,
no last names or labels like “pop star” or “actor”
are needed to make the connection clear.
And what about these
names: Do Savarona, Lady Moura, Christina O, Carinthia, and Talitha G ring a bell? Of course they do; they’re the celebrities of the
yacht world. Ever since we began chronicling the “lives” of
these and other notables among the largest privately owned yachts in the
world a full 18 years ago, even the most casual yacht-watcher among you
hasn’t needed labels like “megayacht” to know what these
ocean-goers look like or even which yards built them. (Or, for that matter,
the juiciest gossip about their owners.)
So move over, Tom. Turn
off your mike, Madonna. And Arnold, you’ll need to rethink your
famous “I’ll be back” line (although if you have any
future plans to throw yacht parties as fabulous as the one held during
the Cannes Film Festival for your latest Terminator movie, we’ll
excuse you).
Meet the real superstars.
