Yikes—electronics! Over the past eight years the screen on my Garmin plotter’s gotten a tad hazy. Certainly still quite usable, it’s not what it used to be, though. So while I’d love to share some sound advice on how to clarify a relatively ancient plotter screen, quite frankly I’m fresh out of ideas. I’ve tried optical cleaner (like for eyeglasses), computer-screen cleaner, plain water, soapy water, and even (against all advice) Windex, and nothing seems to work. A plea of sorts seems in order as a consequence—if you know how to spruce up the screen of an older model GPS plotter, please shoot me an e-mail at wpike@aimmedia.com.
