Robert Redford will return to the silver screen this October with the debut of his latest theatrical effort—All Is Lost. In the film, Redford plays a solo sailor whose physical prowess, resourcefulness, and will are all put to the test when his boat strikes a stray shipping container in the Indian Ocean. The movie has been garnering quite a bit of critical hype after it premiered to a ten-minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival—there is great speculation that his performance may put the 76-year-old Redford in the running for an Academy Award for acting for the first time in 40 years. (There will be no Best Supporting Actor nominations though, as Redford is the only character in the film, whose name is listed on the movie’s IMDB page simply as “Our Man”).
