Madiz

OK, fellow yacht-spotters, here's your chance to help out with a truly interesting proposal. I received an e-mail from a woman named Jon Horley, whose grandfather served aboard Madiz when it was known as the royal yacht HMS Hiniesta. (Some of you spotters may know that the yacht served King George VI and Queen Elizabeth during that time.) Here's what Jon would like to do:

"What I inherited after my grandfather passed away is a tiny commemorative plaque presented to HMS Hiniesta by a then leading celebrity called Evelyn Laye, and a small oblong box engraved with all of the names of her crew, probably in the 1940s (possibly in commemoration of the Royal trip, I'm not sure). These include my grandfather, Harry Horley, who had an interestingly varied career at sea, having served on subs at the Battle of Jutland, gone into merchant seamanship, gaining a square-rig ticket, and sailing as far as Rio, with his two sons, one of whom was my father. Capt. Horley acted as a liaison in the last world war between the American 8th based in Huntingdon and the Navy, then working on coalers until his death in c. 1950.

I would very much love to see Madiz in her home in the Aegean, if that was possible. I was wondering if there's any way to contact the Greek gentleman who's owned her for several years, just to be able to see her? With my grandfather dying when I was so young, I only have a few photos of him and little understanding of what he did. It might also be appropriate for me to offer one of the items to the yacht's owner, do you think, as a token of her past life?"

Anyone have information on who represents the yacht? If so, please pass it on here, and I'll make sure Jon gets it.
