The history of Mega yachts
When one hears the term mega yacht the Epyc Pacific Provider also known as the mothership of all motherships comes to mind. Released into the water in 1978, the 454 ton, 147 foot supply vessel by the name of State Hawk set sail all around the Caribbean. She sailed for a decade, delivering Calcium Chloride to U.S. Oil Platforms. The State Hawk was later sold and refitted to carry crab. This now 150 ft crab boat fished on both the Russian and United States side of the well-known sea of Bearing until it was retired in 2004.
Renamed the Shelikov, she was bought by owners to be a research vessel but was later retired once again because the new owners had bigger plans. By the time the year 2007 came around, the Shelikov was then sold to the Eastern Pacific Yacht Club and it was from there that her fame began.
