DaimlerChrysler sells MTU/DDC

Stockholm-based financial investor EQT has signed an agreement with DaimlerChrysler to buy MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH and the off-highway activities of Detroit Diesel Corporation (DDC), Detroit.

Engines for Mercedes trucks and buses will however continue to be manufactured by DaimlerChrysler.
EQT which was set up by Investor, the investment vehicle of Sweden's Wallenberg family, also owns nearly 11 percent of the share capital in Swedish truck, bus and engine maker Scania.
