Tonight, I was watching Extreme Engineering, and for a part of the show they covered, a research vessel called the Kilo Moana. They covered the fact, that the catamaran design is very stable, and comfortable to ride on because the waves do not rock the vessel, have a turning radius of zero, and a more shallow draft. So my question is why don't yacht designers and naval architects design yachts and other vessels. Though yet, not many owners, ride their yachts in the rough waters, or care about the turning radius, and for some owners even the crew Even while they are in port, the swells could be some what rough. As well as making it easier to navigate in ports.
When Regulator Marine decided to vault the 40-foot mark, they did it as only the North Carolina builder can: quad Yamaha outboards, an Armstrong bracket, and a hull ready for virtually any conditions. See the details here. ▶
