Dutch newspapers today reported the closing of Amels' Makkum facility later this year. Due to a decline in orders the 170 people strong workforce will be layed off. The Vlissingen facility will continue operations.

In the meantime I saw just last week, that the 52m (171ft) Aidre is still tied down at the docks in Vlissingen. Most likely they still haven't found a buyer for this gorgeous.
