Senior
editor Capt. Patrick Sciacca recently returned from
a trip to Volvo Penta’s Göteborg, Sweden,
test facility where he viewed a host of new diesel
offerings from 160 hp to 575 hp. While the engines
looked good at the unveiling, they were even more
impressive during on-the-water testing. Seen here
is the 45-foot, 39,000-pound charter boat Tuna
Clipper, which
made a speedy 29-knots thanks to twin 500-hp D9 diesel
inboards. She even managed to pull six water-skiers.
Stay tuned for the full story in a future issue of
PMY.
