Suzuki is presenting three new four-strokes: the 200-hp DF200, 225-hp DF225, and 250-hp DF250. Features include a 55-degree, 3.6-liter V-6, dual overhead camshafts, 24 valves, digital sequential electronic fuel injection, a tuned multistage manifold on the 225 and 250, a 32-bit computer, and a new lower unit. In addition, the DF250 has variable valve timing.

A sensor network constantly monitors Suzuki’s multipoint electronic fuel-injection system, measuring and automatically adjusting engine operation based on manifold pressure, crankshaft position, intake-air temperature, cylinder-wall temperature, camshaft position, and exhaust temperature. In addition, these V-6 four-strokes have a high-output, 54-amp alternator designed to deliver most of its power at low rpm—32 amps at 1000 rpm.

To keep the engine cool, Suzuki designed a flywheel with fan blades that expel warm air out the side of the engine cowl. The engine lube oil system is water-cooled and features piston-cooling jets that spray a fine stream of oil to the underside of each piston, while another jet aims oil onto the main camshaft chain and drive gear.

All the engines are available in 25- and 30-inch shaft lengths and are CARB three-star compliant.
