Kohler Power Systems continues to overhaul its line of 8- to 32-kW diesel gensets, which are powered by Yanmar diesels and feature improved soundshields, advanced digital diagnostics, and improved bulkhead connections.

An extensive housing redesign—which included improved ducting and gasketing/

sealing—and the addition of loaded-barrier foam should produce quieter running. Kohler has also integrated Advanced Digital Control (ADC), which displays kW, battery voltage, oil pressure, engine hours, run condition, and system-fault conditions (see inset photo above). The gensets also feature the new three-inch Remote Digital Gauge, which displays diagnostic information right at the helm. Even better, Kohler units are said to be easier to install and service than in the past, as the soundshield is designed with fewer components and all connection points are easily accessible.
